What is Mission Possible 365?
Mission Possible 365 is a challenge from The Golden Soldiers, Inc. Can you act out the Golden Rule at least once every day for the rest of your life? If your answer is yes, then upon accepting this challenge you will officially become a Golden Soldier and be part of the greatest army in the history of mankind.
What's with calling it 365 if it is a lifelong challenge?
The reason for 365 is because we are going to track how many lives can be touched by Mission Possible 365 in one year. This number will continue to grow as people accept the challenge.
Why the Golden Rule?
The Golden Rule: "So in everything do to others what you would have them do to you." This is one of the most universal statements ever said. We believe anyone, no matter their location, age, sex, race, ability, disability, ethnicity, or religion can read this statement and agree this is a great motto to live by. The Golden Rule uses the word "everything", which means even when someone treats us how we may not want to be treated, we still treat them with kindness and how we do want to be treated.
How do I act out the Golden Rule?
This is actually quite simple. All you have to do is look at someone and the situation they are in and ask yourself "What would I want people to do if that someone were me?" You can literally do anything for anyone, it can be something as simple as holding a door for someone or it could be something as elaborate as buying a family a new car. The possibilities are endless and we are excited to see what everyone comes up with.
Do I have to do this by myself?
Absolutely not! In fact we encourage you to accept the challenge with friends, co-workers, school organizations, sports teams, etc. and find ways how all of you can act out the Golden Rule.
Is there a way for me to share what I have done?
Yes! You can visit the Mission Possible 365 Facebook page and post comments of what you have done to act out the Golden Rule. You can also create videos and take pictures of what you've done and send them to us and we will feature your video on our website and Facebook page!
Can I tell the Golden Rule recipient why I did what I have just done?
The choice is yours. We have no problem if you would like to share with the recipient why you did what you did for them. However, it can also be fun to do things in secret and leave them wondering.
Do you really think Mission Possible 365 can make a difference?
Yes! The population of the state of Georgia is 9,687,653(U.S. Census Bureau). If just 8.8% of the population of Georgia accepts the challenge, then in one year alone Mission Possible 365 will touch 311,094,245 lives which is more than the population of the entire United States. If 6.2% of the population of the United States accepts the challenge, then in one year 7,000,000,000 lives will be touched which is the population of the entire WORLD. So Yes, we think this can make a difference.
Why is The Golden Soldiers, Inc. doing this, I thought you just worked with special needs individuals?
The Golden Soldiers, Inc. was founded on the concept of spreading the meaning of the Golden Rule. Founder Lindsey Turner, discovered his passion for special needs individuals during some of the earlier missions and realized one of the easiest ways to demonstrate the Golden Rule was to work with individuals with special needs. "We are all just one car accident away from being in a similar situation." states Turner. Not wanting to lose the message of spreading the Golden Rule, the concept of Mission Possible 365 was designed. We are also hoping through Mission Possible 365, more people will discover The Golden Soldiers, Inc. and be willing to serve with and give to this amazing organization and help change more lives in the special needs community.
